This song was written as a standard for Andy Williams to sing. As a young boy I watched his weekly music specials and every year I looked forward to his family Christmas specials. I remembered those happy days when I saw a news special and he was seated in a courtroom with Claudine Longette. I picked up my classical guitar and wrote the whole song start to finish. It felt like a song I already knew.

Wasn't It a Time

Wasn't it a time we shared
Wasn't it a love that we dared to feel
With all our hearts
And all our minds
Wasn't it a time

Wasn't it a way to feel
Wasn't it a love
That we felt was real
So complete and uncontrived
Wasn't it a time

Our spirits soared
Our love unfurled
We sang our songs
To the world
We watched our children
Dance and sing
We knew the joy
That only love can bring
In the still of the night
Wasn't it a time

Wasn't it a sunny day
You took my hand and then
You walked my way
And then we danced
And then we dined
Wasn't it a time

Our spirits soared
Our love unfurled
We sang our songs
To the world
We watched our children
Dance and sing
We knew the joy
That only love can bring
In the still of the night
Wasn't it a time

Wasn't there a time we knew
When our hearts were young
And our love was true
Filled with hope
Unworldly wise
Wasn't it a time
